Is CPU and GPU temps of 180F too much for modern PCs? Folding at even medium setting is showing me these temps on Acer’s NitroSense.

I can post pics on this new box! Pic of my 2 kittehs for your pleasure.

It’s pretty toasty. Probably if it runs without instability or errors, you can live with it, but I like to keep load temps under 80°C and I’d be more comfortable under 70°C.

80c (176f) is where many components start to dislike providing their max performance. Some components are designed for higher temps but most aren’t. Not only do you risk long term damage running on the higher end but most CPUs/GPUs will throttle down their cycles (performance) to avoid even higher temps.

You should probably consider better cooling if you’d like to continue pushing that system.

CPU can definitely be cooler, my 4770k CPU was hitting 100 Celsius at times while folding and dropped significantly after putting on a new cooler.

My old GTX 760 was aroud 88 Celsius but my 1660 Super that I installed a few months ago maintains a constant 76 Celsius while folding.

So you're a bit on the hot side but it's not the worst.
